In October 2016, between the 29th-30th, ICONIC 2016 was held at the Museum of “Technische Universität Hamburg“, located in Schloßmühlendamm 30-32, 21073 Hamburg. ICONIC is a conference of Indonesian students. The conference at ICONIC 2016 emphasized specific theme: “The rising of the Industry: Business Synergy Optimization, Governance, and Education” with subtheme economy and trade.
Indonesian Trade Promotion Center in Hamburg (ITPC Hamburg) has participated at this event, which is held by the Indonesian Student Association in Germany (PPI Germany), in order to promote the idea of enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia on a global level, particularly in sector industry and trade. Another purpose of this event is to build a network among young entrepreneurs, academicians, and public decision maker and a platform to share ideas towards developing and challenging Indonesia’s Industry.
The Ambassador of Republic Indonesia for Germany, Dr. Ing.Fauzi Bowo welcomed the conference together with the General Consul of Republic Indonesia for Hamburg, Sylvia Arifin. In his speech, Dr. Ing.Fauzi Bowo emphasized that Indonesia has a competitiveness in terms of geography and demography and therefore should develop its human resource, thus if developed Indonesia would be highly competitive.
Materials were presented by respective
speakers i.a. Prof. Dr. B. J Habibie, Dr. BambangSetiadi (Head of
National Research Council), Ir. HasbiAssidiqSyamsuddin (Secretary of
Directorate General of ILMATE of Ministry of Industry), Faisal Basri
(Economic Expert), and Dr.Ahmad Saufi (Education and Culture Attaché-
KBRI Berlin).
