On January 24, 2019, representatives from ITPC Hamburg visited one of the companies in Bremen that are active doing trading in the food sector, including vegetables (frozen and canned), fruits (dried and canned), fishery products especially tuna fish (canned), and spices (frozen). This visit was welcomed by the Head of Purchasing and team. The company also has trade networks including Turkey, China, India, Thailand and the Philippines. Unfortunately, the purchase of Indonesian products is still done through the intermediaries of a company in the Netherlands. Through the visit, ITPC Hamburg team offered samples of raw dried young jackfruit products and cooked dry young jackfruit originating from Indonesia and also some Indonesian products that could be potential such as arenga sugar, coconut chips and banana chips.
The results from the delivery of these samples show a variety of positive feedback, especially for jackfruit samples, and banana chips which were processed using freeze fry technology. The company also showed interest in raw young jackfruit products. Meanwhile for Arenga sugar products, it still needs some in-depth analysis to be marketed in Germany.
