Ambiente 2017, one of the renowned exhibitions for consumer
goods, the exhibition took place between the 10th -14th of February 2017
in Frankfurt. Ambiente 2017 had three main sectors. The first is
“Dining” (i.a. kitchen trends, kitchen, and house ware & storage),
the second is “Giving” (i.a. gifts, accessories & jewellery and
young & trendy) and lastly “Living” (i.a. interior design, seasonal
decoration, and loft). Around 4.454 companies originating from 96
different countries participated in this global event. Ambiente 2017 occupied an area of 308.000 m2, which are divided into 11 halls. The amount visitors this year exceeded 130.000.
“Indonesia’s Country Pavilion” is located in Hall 10.1 and occupied an area of about 172 m2. The pavilion is divided into two area, depending on the facilitator. The Directorate General of Small Medium Enterprise and the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia joined together has an area of 80 m2 (Ministry of Industry). Meanwhile, the other 92 m2 is joined by the Directorate General of National Export Development and Indonesian Trade and Promotion Center of Hamburg (Ministry of Trade). The venue, which was under DGNED and ITPC is shared by eight companies of home décor products i.a. CV. Anna Craft (wooden craft and home décor – Yogyakarta); CV. Multi Dimensi (sea shell crafts – Cirebon); PT. Out of Asia (basket, bathroom accessories, tray, vase, mirror, wall décor – Yogyakarta); CV. Palem Craft Jogja (lighting & home interior decoration – Yogyakarta), PT. Harmoni Jaya Kreasi (basket laundry, placemat, tray, & wall décor – Yogyakarta), PT. Global Kriya Nusantara (candle holder and vase from metal – Jakarta), PT. Wahyu Isna Furniraya (rattan living set, basket rattan, lighting, dinnerware, teak wood, sea shell, rattan – Solo), PT. Jawa Furni Lestari (candle holder – Ngaglik). The country pavilion has a special design with the theme “Trade with Remarkable Indonesia” which fascinated many visitors and animated them to visit the pavilion.
There are 67 companies from Indonesia which participated at Ambiente 2017. Beyond Hall 10.1, several independent companies from Indonesia and a company facilitated by BEKRAF were also present in Hall 3.0, Hall 5.0, Hall 6.2, Hall 6.3, Hall 9.2, Hall 10.2, Hall 10.3, Hall 10.4, and Hall 11.0.
Over the period of five days, a transaction worth of US$ 2.323.395 was generated by the eight companies, which were supported by the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia. Products that visitors were interested in were home décor / handicraft products, especially from rattan and wood. Moreover, several products from seashell and other products such as tableware, kitchenware, bathroom accessories, and candle holders also gained much attention from the visitors.
